just need to share.

I am going to do some crit comments on those paintings below. I am so happy to see them up! and all in all feel like they are going in a fab direction. K- I think your technique is strong and I will of course elaborate later when I can have more time.
BUT
Something a little googling showed me today and I would like to share.

bc sometimes taking art too seriously means you dont consider where it can go. i love overlapping worlds metaphorically. this article shows a little overlap geographically :)

Seriously. We're not talking metaphor here.

This isn't the actual home of the saw -- that would just be crazy! I put it up on the counter for effect. The saw actually resides in the kitchen on a table near the window. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to read the manual and get this baby functional! Until then, I'm keeping track of all the non-wood things people have suggested I cut with the saw: onions, sushi, apples, cucumbers.

From the Washington Post. !!! ! --->NY museum exhibit to show unseen Tim Burton works
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Films, paintings and drawings by film director and artist Tim Burton, which have never been seen before by the public, will be shown in a new exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. The retrospective, which will run from November to April, will feature more than 700 works spanning his 27-year film career, including some that were made before he directed such movies as "Batman," "Edwards Scissorhands," and "Sweeney Todd."

Definitely going. dream of dreams.

why this and why now.

After having brunch in an all mauve Brooklyn diner for under five dollars each, Kristin and I decided it was time to shrink the space between us and realize the need for the art community that we had in college. Shout out to the University of Mary Washington and its treasure of an art department. go liberal arts schools. learn all you can. everything is art (stepping off soap box)

Currently I am located in the southeast and Kristin is in the northeast. We both work dayjobs and struggle through the same issues and obstacles as we tromp through the world of the modern day creator. art maker. whatever you want to call a dreamer that is actively producing work and absorbing life. we try. we miss. we try. we make. and with this blog... we will encourage.critique and share.
